University of Côte d'Azur


University Côte d'Azur is a public scientific, cultural and professional experimental establishment created by decree 2019-785 of 25 July 2019, by the merger of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, with the Côte d'Azur University, which had been part of the ComUE system.
It replaces the ComUE created on 1 March 2015 and of which Jean-Marc Gambaudo assumed the Presidency. On 9 January 2020, Jeanick Brisswalter was elected President of Université Côte d'Azur.
It has nearly 30,000 students in initial and continuing education, including 20% foreign students, and eight University and Research Schools. Its university campuses are located in several cities of the Côte d'Azur as well as on the Sophia Antipolis technology park. It is part of the academic region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur which includes the academies of Aix-Marseille and Nice.
Under the chairmanship of Frédérique Vidal, the university was awarded for its project called “UCA Jedi” supported by numerous companies. The "University Côte d'Azur ” was created in 2017 to collect donations to finance research projects.
