Kʼakʼ Tiliw Chan Chaak


Kʼakʼ Tiliw Chan Chaak, alternatively known by the nickname Smoking Squirrel bestowed before his name glyph was deciphered, was a Maya ruler of Naranjo.
Flint-Sky-God K of Dos Pilas sent his daughter Lady Wac-Chanil-Ahau to Naranjo to reestablish a royal dynasty there after the defeat of Naranjo under Ruler I by Caracol. The first sacred rituals for her arrival began on August 30, 682. A son, Smoking Squirrel, was born January 6, 688. He was made ruler of Naranjo on May 31, 693.
He made ties to Dos Pilas and Tikal during his rule. Outlived by his mother, Wak Chanil Ajaw, who succeeded him.
He built many monuments in the cities he ruled as well as being the son of Lady WAC Chanil Ajaw. Said to have greatly expanded the Mayan empire. 11-29-12
