founder

Palatine
Otto of the Győr clan
. The
monastery
was
dedicated
to
the Apostle
Saint James the Great
. The deed of the
foundation
of the monastery is the first
extant
charter
issued by a
nobleman
in the
Kingdom
of
Hungary
.
