Yi Dang


Yi Dang was a noble family of Korean Joseon dynasty. But he was non peerage title, his father Prince Euneon and older brother Crown Prince Sangkye was treason charges and his mother Lady Song of Sangsan and sister-in-law Lady Sin of Sangkye is believe in Catholicism, reason is Neo-Confucianism was the state religion in Joseon dynastys. a half-brother and step-cousin of Hanor Grand Prince Jeongye, father of 25th king Cheoljong of Joseons. but he was not a royal family for his lifetimes. his nickname and his Chinese name was unknown.

Life

Yi Dang's original father Prince Euneon Yi In was an illegitimate son of Crown prince Sado and mother was concubine Lady Lim Sookbin of Buahn, a daughter of Lim Ji-Beon. Later adopted, adoptive father Prince Eunjeon was also the illegitimate son of Crown prince Sado and Younger Half-brother of Prince Euneon and adoptive father Prince Eunjeon's mother was Bing-ae Park.
Details of his childhood and early life is unknown.
His wife Lady Kim of Gwangsangun had no issues also his concubine Lady Lee of Jeonju had one son, Yi Hee, after appointed Prince Ikpyeong. Yi Dang was adopted by his half-uncle Prince Eunjeon, the reason was because Prince Eunjeon and his wife Lady Cho of Pyeongyang had no issue and Prince Eunjeon was suffering the last sanction of the law, in 5th wedding anniversary laters. But he was not a member of the royal family for his lifetimes. He was non peerage title and not a public office title holder in his lifetime. His first grave was Dongmak-dong in Ansan, later his grave was moved to Dangjeong-dong in Gunpo city, near his adoptive father Prince Eunjeon's grave.
