Xarabank is Malta's most watched television programme and it is the only discussion programme in Malta that has a live audience who can participate by having his/her say live. Xarabank is broadcast every Friday evening on TVM, Malta's national TV station, between October and July each year and has been on air since 4 April 1997. Xarabank investigates, discusses different issues and sometimes entertains. Throughout the years the quality of the show deteriorated and sometimes it is compared to Jerry Springer. The quality of its discussion are considered to be childish and one sided with the presenter not giving time for anyone to talk especially when the discussion swerves away and goes against his ideals.
In 2016, Xarabank launched its new official website: www.xarabank.com.mt. While a complete re-brand of the whole programme was done. The new identity features Xarabank as much more news oriented. The orange was eliminated and black was introduced as the main colour for the brand. A hint of red and blue was also applied to the brand. The most iconic phrase in the program will be "fil qosor." which translates to keep it short.
