William Caspar Graustein
William Caspar Graustein was an American mathematician. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1910 and later became an instructor at Harvard University. In 1921, he married Mary Curtis Graustein, was the first American women to earn a mathematics Ph.D. from Radcliffe College.
He died in an automobile accident, at the age of 52. At the time, Graustein was professor of mathematics and assistant dean at Harvard.
