Vasyl Petiovka


Vasyl Petiovka is a Ukrainian statesman and a politician, a People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VIth, VIIth and IXth convocations.

Biograph

Vasyl Petiovka was born on January 30, 1967, in Zavydovo Village, Mukachevo Raion in Zakarpattia Oblast., Liga.net
In 1985 he graduated from Mukachevo cooperative technical school on specialty: stock manager and sales manager of groceries and industrial goods.
From 1985 to 1987 he had a compulsory military service.
He got education at Mukachevo Technological Institute at the Faculty of Engineering and Economics. In 2006 he graduated from Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, got a specialty: a specialist in accounting and audit.

Working Activity

Since 1985 Petiovka worked at Verhniokoropetz consumers enterprise of Mukachevo Region consumer's association.
Since 1987 he worked at Mukachevo cooperative technical school, company «Latorytzia», limited liability company «Rei-Promin». Since April, 1997, he worked at limited liability company «Barva», since April,1998, he became the head of the board of directors of limited liability company «Barva».
In 2002 he was elected a deputy of Zakarpattia Oblast Council of the IVth convocation.
From 2002 to 2003 he became a member of executive Mukachevo City Council of Zakarpattia Oblast.
From 2003 to 2007 he took a post of Mukachevo's major. This 2003 election was followed by a long legal battle with Social Democratic Party of Ukraine supported Ernest Nuser who had also claimed victory in the election.
In the March 2006 Ukrainian parliamentary election Petiovka was a People's Deputy of Ukraine candidate from Our Ukraine bloc, No. 224 on the list, he was not elected. Since November, 2007, to December 12, 2012, he was a people's deputy of the 6th convocation from block «Our Ukraine–People's Self-Defense Bloc» elected in the 2007 Ukrainian parliamentary election, a member of The Verhovna Rada Committee of Ukraine on questions of finances and bank activity. In the 2012 Ukrainian parliamentary election he also became a people's deputy elected in electoral district No. 72 of Zakarpattia Oblast as a candidate of United Centre. In the 2014 Ukrainian parliamentary election he was reelected in electoral district No. 72 as an independent candidate and in parliament became a member of deputies’ group "People’s Will". For this he was expelled from United Centre.
Vasyl Petiovka is a member of the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada on issues of agricultural policy and land matters. He is also a member of interparliament tights with the Korean Republic. In the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election he was reelected in electoral district No. 72 as again an independent candidate and in parliament became a member of the faction., Civil movement "Chesno"

Family

Wife: Maryna. Two sons. Petiovka is a cousin of fellow politician Viktor Baloha.
