United States Distance Learning Association

The United States Distance Learning Association is a non-profit association that promotes the development and application of distance education. It was formed in 1987 and is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
USDLA provides advocacy, information, networking, and opportunity for its members. Distance learning and training constituencies served include preK-12 education, higher and continuing education, and home schooling as well as business, corporate, military, government and telehealth markets.
State-level chapters have been formed in several U.S. states.
The USDLA has been influential in shaping distance education in the United States, particularly through its sponsorship of national policy forums and conferences that have attracted broad participation from federal and state government, educational institutions, and business.
However, the USDLA is not recognized by the US Dept of Education as a recognized accrediting agency for national or regional accrediting purposes.
