UHamu kaNzibe
uHamu kaNzibe or Hamu kaNzibe was a zulu renegade, half-brother and great rival of king Cetshwayo.History
Although uHamu was the eldest son of Mpande, he stood far behind Cetshwayo in the succession because his mother had not been selected as Mpande's "Great Wife". inKosi of the Ngenetsheni people, he opened negotiations with the British in the late 1878, joining Evelyn Wood's forces. To punish him Cetshwayo sent his impi to destroy his district which led to the third zulu civil war.
After the battle of Hlobane, the prince uHamu and his followers surrendered to Evelyn Wood in Kambula.
