Toyota New Global Architecture


The Toyota New Global Architecture are modular unibody automobile platforms that underpin various Toyota and Lexus models starting with the fourth generation Prius in late 2015. TNGA platforms accommodate different vehicle sizes and also front-, rear- and all-wheel drive configurations.

Applications

TNGA-B (GA-B)

Replaces the B platform. Smaller than TNGA-C and offered in subcompact size with transverse engine and front- or all-wheel drive.
Calendar years:
Replaces the MC and New MC platforms. Offered in compact size with transverse engine and front- or all-wheel drive.
Calendar years:
Replaces the K platform. Larger than TNGA-C with transverse engine and front- or all-wheel drive.
Calendar years:
Replaces the N and New N platforms. Offered with longitudinal engine and rear- or all-wheel drive.
Calendar years:
The Global Architecture for luxury vehicles is used on Lexus vehicles. Offered with longitudinal engine and rear- or all-wheel drive.

The e-TNGA is an electric car platform that will be applied to 10 dedicated models worldwide by early 2020. The six global models include:
The platform will enable offering various type and size of vehicles, different battery capacity and with front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or dual motor all-wheel drive. This vehicle architecture is partitioned into five modules. These are the front module, center module, rear module, battery and motor. Up to three versions of each module are in development, including three capacities for the lithium-ion battery.

Daihatsu New Global Architecture

As Toyota owns 100% of Daihatsu since 2016, the Daihatsu New Global Architecture is derived from TNGA and currently used exclusively in Daihatsu-produced kei cars and subcompact cars, some of which are sold with Toyota and Subaru badging.
