Tom Quinn (British actor)


Tom Quinn is a British actor born in Guernsey in April 1991. He trained at East 15 Acting School from 2010 to 2013.

Theatre

Quinn has worked on the West End stage, first appearing on the London stage of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap at St Martin's Theatre as the understudy Christopher Wren.
In 2017, Quinn appeared in the National Theatre's touring production of War Horse, based on the children's book by author Michael Morpurgo. Quinn played the role of Joey and Topthorn's head puppeteer.
In 2019, Quinn continued the role into the 2019/2020 UK and International Tour of War Horse, playing venues including Glasgow SEC, Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Lyric Theatre Hong Kong, Civic Theatre Auckland, Regent Theatre Melbourne and Lyric Theatre Sydney among many others. Due to the outbreak of the global pandemic COVID-19, the International tour was cancelled on 18 March 2020, cancelling performances at the Crown Theatre, Perth.

Appearances

During Quinn's time with War Horse, he attended many large scale events promoting the show. In October 2019 Quinn appeared on ITV's This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield. During this appearance, Schofield was seen riding into the studio on top of Topthorn, puppeteered by Quinn and team mates Lewis Howard and Samuel Parker.
In January 2020, Quinn appeared with his team as Joey, live on Australia's Channel9's Today show promoting War Horse during the Australian Open 2020. Presenter Allison Langdon rode in on Joey whilst Karl Stefanovic spoke to Puppetry Director Gareth Aled.

Early work

At the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Quinn played the role of Gilbert in the show Sex Ed: The Musical where one reviewer stated that he "more than delivered with the sole male vocal part."
