The Missouri Bar

The Missouri Bar is the integrated bar association of the U.S. state of Missouri.

History

The Missouri Bar traces its lineage to a voluntary membership organization called the Missouri Bar Association. This organization included over 1600 members in the 1930s, but excluded Missouri's black lawyers. In 1945 the organization changed its name to The Missouri Bar, became a mandatory bar, and racially integrated.

Structure

Bar policy is set by a Board consisting of the organization's officers plus Board members elected by district.
The Bar enforces the rule that Missouri lawyers must complete 15 continuing education credits each year.
