The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan


The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan reported 81,034 members in 17 stakes, one district, 117 congregations, two missions, and one temple, as of December 31, 2018.

History

In June 1956, four missionaries arrived in Taiwan.
Hu Wei-I, a convert, helped translate the Book of Mormon into Mandarin Chinese.
In November 1984, Gordon B. Hinckley dedicated the Taipei Taiwan Temple.
In 2020, the LDS Church canceled services and other public gatherings indefinitely in response to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Missions

On November 17, 1984 the Taipei Taiwan Temple was dedicated by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
