The Charles Dickens School
The Charles Dickens School is a mixed high school, located in Broadstairs in the English county of Kent. The school is named after Charles Dickens, the 19th-century writer and social critic.
The Charles Dickens School is part of the Barton Court Academy Trust.
The Charles Dickens School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, though the school no longer has a Sixth Form. All pupils in Years 7 and 8 will follow the National Curriculum and in Years 9 to 11 they will have the opportunity to study a range of GCSE, Applied BTEC, Technical and Creative subjects. The curriculum has been designed to meet the needs of all learners.
Following an Ofsted report of 2011 which found The Charles Dickens School generally overall Grade 2 'Good', in 2014 it was judged Grade 4 'inadequate' and placed in 'Special measures' with ongoing monitoring inspections.
