The Women's Doubles competition was part of the tennis program at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Gigi Fernández and Mary Joe Fernandez were the defending gold medallists, and successfully defended their title, defeating Jana Novotná and Helena Suková in the final 7–6, 6–4. To obtain the bronze medal, Conchita Martínez and Arantxa Sánchez Vicario defeated Manon Bollegraf and Brenda Schultz-McCarthy 6–1, 6–3.Medalists
