Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry is a Pakistani politician who hails from Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. He served as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir between July 1996 – July 2001. He is the current president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Azad Kashmir chapter. He is the son of the late Kashmiri leader Chaudhary Noor Hussain who also founded Azad Muslim Conference along with Sardar Ibrahim Khan but after Sardar Ibrahim Khan left the party he controlled it alone. His family has contribution in Tehreek e Azadi e Kashmir. He has also been an MLA. He also founded Peoples Muslim League in 2005. After completing his education he came back from England to Mirpur in 1987 and joined his father's party Azad Muslim Conference and contested elections and won, one of the people who won from the party was Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed late of samahni and his uncle Chaudhry khadim Hussain from La-4 Khari Sharif and now his son Chaudhry Arshad Hussain contests elections from La-4 Then in the second elections he Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed late and Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, Chaudhry Yasin won. Then he merged his party with liberation league and became its President. Then he finished the party and moved to Pakistan People's Party and became president of Pakistan People's Party Azad Kashmir and became prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. After leaving Pakistan People's Party he created his own party People's Muslim League in 2005 because of some problems in the party and won 5 seats but when Benazir Bhutto addressed the issue she apologized and told that join the party again so barrister Sultan finished it and Joined Pakistan Peoples Party again but won no seats in AJK. In February 2015 he joined Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and became president of Azad Kashmir chapter. On 24 November 2019, he became M.L.A. in the by-elections in Mirpur Azad Kashmir. He owns a plaza in Rawalpindi after demolishing his old house and his family owns brick factories. Many of their properties were sealed by Sardar Abdul Qayyum when he was the Prime Minister. He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on 6 February 2015 and lost the elections for the first time after 25 years on 21 July 2016. He is married and has three sons.
