Stokes's skink
Stokes's skink '' is a species of skink, a lizard in the family Scincidae. It is also called commonly the gidgee skink, the gidgee spiny-tailed skink, the silubosaure, and Stokes' egernia. The species is endemic to Australia. There are four recognized subspecies.Etymology
The specific name, stokesii, is in honor of Royal Navy Admiral John Lort Stokes.
The subspecific name, zellingi, is in honor of British biological collector Charles Weldon De Burgh Birch, Count Zelling.E. stokesii is found in New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.Habitat
