Stewart Moore

Stewart Moore is an Irish rugby union player, who is currently a member of the Ulster academy. He plays as a centre and represents Malone in the All-Ireland League.

Early life

Moore first began playing rugby aged 6 with the minis section of local club Ballymoney, though he dropped the sport to play football instead, before returning to rugby at Dalriada School. From there, Moore was brought into the Ulster under-16s setup, and he moved to Ballymena Academy to focus on rugby. He is currently studying biology at Belfast Metropolitan College.

Ulster

Moore made his senior competitive debut for Ulster in their 54–42 defeat against Leinster in the 2018–19 Pro14 on 20 December 2019. He will join the senior Ulster squad on a three-year contract from the 2020–21 season.

Ireland

Moore represented Ireland at under-18 schools and under-19 level, but missed out on the 2019 Six Nations Under 20s Championship, where Ireland won a grand slam, due to a serious concussion. He returned from injury to earn selection for the 2019 World Rugby Under 20 Championship, scoring a try in the 42–26 win against England U20 and in the 45–17 loss to Australia U20, though a dislocated shoulder sustained during the Australia game required surgery, ruling Moore out of the remainder of the tournament.
