St. Catherine's High School (Racine, Wisconsin)

St. Catherine's High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school and middle school in Racine, Wisconsin. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

History

St. Catherine's traces its origins to the fall of 1864 when the Racine Dominican Sisters
established an all-girls' day and boarding academy. In 1924, construction of a high school replaced the academy and young men from the area were allowed to attend classes, thus beginning its co-educational tradition. The high school was named after St. Thomas until alumni rallied to have the name forever changed to St. Catherine's.
Previously just a high school, St. Catherine's welcomed middle school students for the first time in history in 2010, the program has been discontinued. In that same year, the school launched its 1:1 technology initiative, the Apple iPad Pilot Program.
More than 15,000 students have passed through St. Catherine's since it opened in 1864.
