Siluria Technologies

Siluria Technologies, Inc. is a San Francisco-based company, founded in 2008, which has developed methods for converting natural gas into products such as ethylene, gasoline and diesel fuel using chemical catalysts instead of heat and pressure. The resultant fuels could cost substantially less than crude oil-derived fuels, due to the abundance and low price of natural gas in the US market. The company has received $30m in funding from Saudi Aramco. A test run of the system produced gasoline in Hayward, California in August 2014. The company is opening an office in Houston, Texas as of August 2014. The chairman of the board of directors is Karl Kurz, with Edward J. Dineen the CEO. Cofounders include president Alex Tkachenko and director Angela M. Belcher.
