Clypeaster, common name "cake urchins" or "sea biscuits", is a genus of echinoderms belonging to the family Clypeasteridae.

Etymology

The genus name Clypeaster is derived from the Latin “clypeus” and “aster”, with reference to the shape of these organisms.
