was the
academic examination board
for
Scottish schools
from
1961
to
1997
.
It used to
administer
all of
Scotland's
academic qualifications, including
Standard Grades
and
Highers
, and was also known as the
Scottish Certificate of Education
Examination
Board
.
In 1997, it
merged
with the
Scottish Vocational Education Council
to form the
Scottish Qualifications Authority
.
