Scott Spock
Scott Alspach, known professionally as Scott Spock, is a songwriter, music producer and composer. He is known for being a member of the pop writing and production team The Matrix, who have written and produced many hit singles that have reached #1 worldwide. Alspach is best known for his songs with Avril Lavigne, Korn, Hillary Duff, Shakira, Jason Mraz, David Bowie, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Liz Phair, Busted and Rihanna.
Life
Spock grew up in Waterloo, Illinois. He was already performing professionally as a teenager in St. Louis, Missouri. At Southern Illinois University, Scott got his Bachelor of Science in Math Studies / Statistics in 1988 and a Bachelor of Music in Music / Jazz Performance in 1989. After college, he worked as an actuary for several years before pursuing music full time. Scott also was a jingle writer and producer for clients, prior to moving to Los Angeles in 1992.Scott is married to Katherine McShane Alspach.
