The Galaxy Note 20 range may not feature a curved display like the one found on the S20 range, instead, the Note 20's display might measure 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels, whereas the Note 20 Ultra may have a 6.9 in display with 3200×1444 pixels. Both phablets may come with a 20:9 aspect ratio and feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen based on 16 M colours, under a HDR10+ panel in a pixel density of either ~364 or ~509 ppi. "LTPO" is an energy saving technology that may reduce power consumption through the LCD of the phablets. Both phablets are anticipated to utilise Corning'sGorilla Glass Victus on the front and back which may be secured in a steel frame. It is not currently known if the phablets will get the same refresh rate options of that of the S20 range but what is known is that the refresh rate options may be 60Hz, running on a QHD resolution and 120Hz, running on a FHD resolution, of which the user can toggle with in settings. Battery capacity for the two phones may be 4300 or 4500mAh. The Note 20 might have 128 GBs of storage whereas the Note 20 Ultra might have 256/512 GB options. The two phones may have either 8 or 12 GB of RAM. It is unlikely either one of the Note 20 variants will have a headphone jack but the speakers are likely be tuned by AKG. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ or a Exynos 990octa-coreprocessor are likely to power the devices. The duo are expected to ship with 5G standard connectivity, though some regions may have special LTE or sub-6GHz only variants. In July, Samsung purposely leaked renders of the device from their website showing a Gold-Chrome colour with a more redesigned S-Pen and rectangular camera module.
Cameras
The Note 20 may feature more better camera specifications than that of the Samsung Galaxy S20, which include a periscope telephoto camera made up of a 64MP resolution, an aperture of ƒ/2.0, a degree of 1/1.72" and a size of 0.8µm featuring PDAF, OIS, 3x optical zoom and 30x hybrid zoom. The wide camera is expected to be 12MP, have an aperture of ƒ/1.8, a focal length of 26mm, a degree of 1/1.76" and a size of 1.8µm with Dual PDAF. The ultra wide camera may be, 12MP, ƒ/2.2, 13mm, 1/2.55", 1.4µm and feature Super Steady video. The Note 20's video recording capabilities may be 8K@24fps, 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps and 720p@960fps featuring HDR10+, stereo sound recording, gyro-EIS & OIS. The Note 20 Ultra should have a more sophisticated camera than that of its counterpart which include a wide 108MP camera with an aperture of ƒ/1.8, a focal length of 26mm, a lens size of 0.8µm, and a degree of 1/1.33", featuring PDAF, Laser AF and OIS. The Note 20 Ultra is rumored to have a 13MP periscope telephoto lens with an ƒ/3.4 aperture, a focal length of 103mm and a degree of 1/3.4". The telephoto lens may also house PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom and 50x hybrid zoom. The ultra wide camera may be 12 MP with an ƒ/2.2 aperture, a focal length of 13mm, a lens size of 0.8µm and a maximum viewing degree of 1/2.55", whilst PDAF and Super Steady video are features of the latter. Like the S20 Ultra, the Note 20 Ultra will likely be able to video record in 8K@24fps, 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps and 720p@920fps. Video recording has an HDR10+ feature, will be able to record stereo sound, and have gyro-EIS with OIS. An LED flash, auto-HDR and panorama are the standard features for the lineup. The front camera of the Note 20 might be a single 10 MP punch hole camera with an aperture of ƒ/2.2, a focal length of 26mm, a degree of 1/3.2" and a miniature size of 1.22µm. Video recording may be 4K@30fps and 1080p@30fps with features like, dual video call and auto-HDR. The Note 20 Ultra may have a front camera consisting of a 40 MP lens with a ƒ/2.2 aperture, a lens size of 0.7µm, and a 26mm focal length that supports PDAF. It is likely that the Note 20 Ultra will be able to support 4K video recording at 30/60fps and 1080p recording at 30fps.
Software
The devices will ship with Android 10 and One UI 2.5. A beta test for Android 11 is expected to be released later on in the year.
