Robert E. Woolley

Robert E. Woolley is the founder of Woolley’s Classic Suites and the originator of the all-suite hotel concept.

Personal history

Woolley was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and instead of attending college, developed his first company, Precision Plumbing, into Arizona's largest plumbing contractor.

Business career

In 1969, he converted an apartment complex into the original Granada Royale Hometel. This grew into a chain of 26 properties, and, in 1984, was sold to Holiday Inn Corporation under the new flag Embassy Suites.

All-suite format

The flagship location of Woolley's Classic Suites will be in the Denver, Colo. area. The idea for an all-suite hotel was developed with the objective of providing spacious facilities to guests at competitive rates. Typically, each guest room is a suite with a separate living room and bedroom. For leisure travelers, the extra space afforded by the living room allows for the room to be easily converted into a bedroom for sleeping up to two additional guests. The space also allows business travelers the opportunity for separate working and sleeping areas.
