Riko Simanjuntak


Riko Simanjuntak is an Indonesian footballer who plays as a winger for Liga 1 club Persija Jakarta and the Indonesia national team. Before joined Persija, he had changed clubs four times. And Semen Padang is a club that is able to optimize its abilities. Together with this club, he who is called Ucok is often a mainstay player to compete in Indonesian competitions.

Career

PSMS Medan

Before joined PSMS Medan, Around 2010–2012, Riko was just an amateur futsal player in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatera. He and his brother Johan Simanjuntak always play together in one team. Riko plays as a right flank, Johan as a left flank. One time, PSMS's Coach Suimin Diharja watched their futsal match together. Riko and Johan's speed, agility, and sharpness made the coach interested in recruiting him. finally Riko and Johan joined PSMS and played on PSMS Medan who were then playing on Indonesia Super League. This is Riko's first football club.

PS Bangka

After the chaotic league dualism, a year later, Riko did not get a League 1 team. He finally joined and played for Liga 2 club PS Bangka. This is where Riko shows her abilities in the field. During the 18 games he played, Riko scored 7 goals.

Gresik United

In 2015 season, Riko signed a year contract with Persegres Gresik United. He made his debut in a 0–1 away win against Barito Putera on 11 April. He made his first goal in a 2–1 home win against Borneo, He scored in 45 minutes.
