Richard S. Baron
Lt. Cdr. Richard Swan Baron was a United States Navy officer who received the Navy Cross for risking his life to recover classified documents during the bombardment of Cavite, Philippines. He was killed during the bombing of Cebu City, Philippines. His namesake, the, a destroyer escort, was commissioned July 5, 1943. The commissioning was witnessed and sponsored by his widow, Anna Pryor Baron.
