Richard Rodgers Sr.
Richard Rodgers Sr. is an American football coach and former player who is the assistant defensive backs coach for the Washington Football Team of the National Football League. A former Arena Football League player, he is the father of Washington Redskins player Richard Rodgers who is known for “the Miracle in Motown”. He began coaching as soon as he retired from the Arena Football League as a player. Rodgers is also known for being a part of "The Play" against Stanford when he was a college football player at the University of California Berkeley. He has been coaching under his college teammate Ron Rivera, the current head coach of the Redskins, since 2012 when he began coaching special teams with the Carolina Panthers.
