Rhodinol
Rhodinol may refer to a single chemical material, L-citronellol or in perfumery a monoterpene alcohol mixture extracted from geranium or citronella. Example commercial Rhodinol materials include Sigma-Aldrich Rhodinol, provided as an unspecified "mixture of L-citronellol and geraniol, FCC," Vigon Rhodinol 70 specified as 40-60% rhodinol, 40-60% racemic citronellol, and less than 1% other materials, and Vigon Rhodinol Pure ex-Geranium, specified as racemic citronellol, 50-70%, unspecified alcohols 30-50%, and citral 0.1-1%. Rhodinol is used in cosmetics and perfumery to impart flowery odors.
