in 1966. The
founders

PCR
belonged to
ESPARTACO
, a group that had been
expelled
from the
Communist Party of Chile
, and
Revolutionary Communist Union
, another
splinter group
of
PCCh
. PCR was led by
Jorge
Palacios
and David Benquis.
PCR
published
El
Pueblo
and
Causa
Marxista-Leninista
.
PCR
dissolved
in
internal
strife
. One
section
would refound itself as the
Communist Organization Recabarren
in
1985
.
