Rakovec, Brežice
Rakovec
is a
settlement
on the
right bank
of the
Sotla River
in the
Municipality of Brežice
in
eastern
Slovenia
. The
area
was
traditionally
part of
Styria
. It is now included with the
rest
of the
municipality
in the
Lower Sava Statistical Region
.
The
Jovsi
wetland
lies
west
of
the village
. During
construction work
in the
regulation
of the
Sotla
River
, chance
finds
from the
Late Bronze Age
point to the
existence
of a so far unexcavated
site
in the area.
