Purple haze (cocktail)
A purple haze is a cocktail with vodka, fruit liqueur, and sometimes a splash of soda. A purple color can be obtained by adding, e.g., a raspberry liqueur to cranberry juice, to make a variation of a Cape Codder, to which ginger ale can also be added. Difford's Guide describes the purple haze as a "sweet and sour shot with a sweet, berry base."Variations
Other variations include the lemonade purple haze, purple haze martini, and purple haze shooters. Absolut's recipe calls for the use of lime juice and simple syrup. The Cocktail Project calls for the use of grape schnapps, vodka, sour mix, lemon-lime soda, and grenadine.
