Potomac Conference of Seventh-day Adventists
The Potomac Conference Corporation of Seventh-Day Adventists® is the organizational body of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the State of Virginia and the Washington Metropolitan Area in the United States. Its headquarters are in Staunton, Virginia. It is a part of the Columbia Union Conference, one of the Unions within the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists.
Some important Adventist sites lie within the Potomac Conference Corporation's territory, including the denomination's General Conference headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland. That facility also houses the main offices of General Conference services such as the Ellen G. White Estate, the Biblical Research Institute, and the Hope Channel. Washington Adventist University, a Seventh-day Adventist liberal arts university, is in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Potomac Conference Corporation owns and runs the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland. The conference is the holding corporation for a number of secondary institutions such as Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, Virginia, and Takoma Academy in Takoma Park, Maryland. A number of churches within the Potomac Conference Corporation operate Christian schools under the auspices of the conference education department.
