Pop Song (David Sylvian song)

"Pop Song" is a song by the English singer-songwriter David Sylvian. The song was released in late 1989 as a non-album single concurrent with the release of the 1989 retrospective box set Weatherbox, though it did not appear on it. It made its initial official compilation appearance in 2000 on the Everything And Nothing album.
The song was written in response to Virgin asking Sylvian to write a 'Pop Song' to release as a single, which he responded to by writing a very unorthodox song called 'Pop Song'. The two instrumental b-sides, 'A Brief Conversation Ending In Divorce' and 'The Stigma Of Childhood ' were later appended as bonus tracks on the remastered version of Sylvian's 1985 album.
