Phoenix (Lycia)


Phoenix or Phoinix was a port town of ancient Lycia, near the mountain of the same name.
Its site is now occupied by the town of Finike in Asiatic Turkey. Off Phoenix was fought the Battle of Phoenix, a naval battle between the Arabs and Byzantine Empire in 654.
