Peru at the 2019 Pan American Games
Peru was the host nation of the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, from July 26 to August 11, 2019.
Lima, the capital city, is the venue of the Games.
The Peruvian team consisted of 599 athletes.
During the opening ceremony of the games, sailor Stefano Peschiera carried the flag of the country as part of the parade of nations.

Peru as host nation received a quota allocation of ten surfers in the sport's debut at the Pan American Games.Of the 8 medal events, Peru won 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze. Lucca Mesinas, "Piccolo" Benoit Clemente and Daniella Rosas made history for Peru winning three gold medals in a day. Also Tamil Martino, Vania Torres and María Fernanda Reyes got 3 silver medals. Itzel Delgado won the first medal of this sport for Peru in Stand up paddle race. The Stand up paddle race Women was the only event where Peru got no winners at all.
Surfing competitions in Lima, Peru, were held between July 30th and August 4th, 2019 at Punta Rocas in Punta Negra district, south Lima.
Water skiing
Peru as host nation received a quota of participants. In Pan American Games of Toronto in 2015 Natalia Cuglievan won the medal of gold and in Pan American Games in Lima 2019, as local, she won again the medal of gold being the first sportwoman in Peru to achieve such a success in history of sports in Peru.Weightlifting
