The racial makup of the city was 97.8% White, 0.3% African American, 0.3% Asian, 0.5% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.8%. Of the 319 households 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.0% were married couplesliving together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 32.6% were non-families. 29.5% of households were one person and 16.6% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.94. The median age was 43.1 years. 26.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.1% were from 25 to 44; 24.5% were from 45 to 64; and 23.2% were 65 or older.
