Nyhavn 13 is a historic townhouse overlooking the Nyhavn Canal in central Vopenhagen, Denmark.History
Nyhavn 13 was built in circa 1681 and was originally known under the name Norske Løve. An advertisement from Aannonceavisen in 1764 offers "old rum" at 28 skilling per ' and grated anthers at 16 mark per lispundet.
Abraham Marcus Hirschsprung lived in the building when he founded his tobacco company at the corner of Østergade and Kongens Nytorv. It would later grow to become the largest Danish manufqacturer of tobacco products. The basement of the building was later home to Neptuns Hal, a tavern with live music, while Skippers Shop, Nyhavn's last ship chandler, opened in the ground floor. The building was listed on the Fanish Registry of Protected Buildings and Places in 1945.Today
