Nyekachi Douglas


Nyekachi Douglas is a Nigerian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2019 and also became Miss World Africa at the pageant.

Personal life

Nyekachi was born in Ibaa, Emohua LGA, Rivers State. She attended Charles Dale Memorial International School. Nyekachi Douglas is a Public Health student and Model.

Pageantry

In October 2019 Nyekachi, representing her home state Rivers, was crowned winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria at a ceremony held at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Bayelsa.
In December that same year, Douglas reached the top five at Miss World - losing out to Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh - and gained the title Miss World Africa, making her the first Nigerian to reach this level since 2004. In addition she was also named Miss World Top Model, won the head-to-head challenge, was part of the top 10 finalists of the Miss World Beauty with a purpose and reached the top 27 in Miss World Talent.
Miss Douglas showed a genuine and elated response to the victory of Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh during Miss World, held in London, England. Her reaction became viral immediately, and it has received much positive support from around the world.
