New York's 27th State Senate district
New York's 27th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Senator Brad Hoylman since 2013, following the retirement of fellow Democratic Senator Thomas Duane. Hoylman is currently the only openly gay State Senator.Geography
District 27 covers much of Lower and Midtown Manhattan, including some or all of Greenwich Village, the East Village, Chelsea, Stuyvesant Town–Peter Cooper Village, Midtown, Times Square, Hell's Kitchen, and the Upper West Side.
The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 7, 10, and 12, and with New York State Assembly districts 65, 66, 67, 73, 74, and 75.2018
