Narotam Sekhsaria


Narotam Satyanarayan Sekhsaria is an Indian businessman and philanthropist. Born in Gujarat business family involved into the Cotton trade. He left his family business and together along with his family friends Suresh Kumar Neotia, Vinod Neotia entered into the cement business and established Ambuja Cements private ltd in 1983.

Narotam Sekhsaria obtained a chemical engineer degree from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai

Career

He was placed as the 40th richest Indian by Forbes India in a 2005 listing. His current net worth was estimated to over $590 million. He is the chairman of ACC Limited and the former chairman of Ambuja Cements. Sekhsaria's son, Pulkit Sekhsaria, is the managing director of Gujarat Ambuja Cements and his daughter, Padmini Somani, manages an NGO, Salam Bombay, which works in the sector of child welfare.
Narotam Sekhsaria has started an NGO, Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, to support students for overseas education. He is passionate about collecting works of art.
