Mumtaz Ali Shah


Mumtaz Ali Shah is a Pakistani civil servant who serves in BPS-22 grade as Chief Secretary Sindh. Hailing from Sindh, Shah belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service.

Career

Mumtaz Ali Shah serves as the Chief Secretary Sindh, in office since September 2018. As Chief Secretary of Sindh, he is also the Sindh Cabinet Secretary. He previously served as Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Secretary of Pakistan. He has also served as Federal Secretary of Ministry of Ports and Shipping.
Shah was promoted to the rank of Federal Secretary in 2017 and has served in many positions in Sindh. In Sindh he has served Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Anti-Corruption Establishment, Secretary Works and Services, Secretary Information Department, Secretary General Administration, and Secretary Population Welfare.
In the beginning of his career he served as assistant commissioner Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab.
Besides in the field he has served as District Coordinating Officer for Badin, DCO Mirpurkhas and DCO Nasirabad in Balochistan.
