Morava (cigarette)


Morava was a Serbian brand of cigarettes, which was owned and manufactured by the Philip Morris Operations. The brand was named after the Morava rivers in Serbia.

History

Morava was founded in the Socialist Republic of Serbia and quickly became one of the most popular brands within socialist Serbia, along with Drina and Drava. The brand was one of the best-selling within the Yugoslavian market, and is one of the few cigarette brands to survive after the Breakup of Yugoslavia, along with Drina. Though, the filterless green variant, the only variant of the Morava cigarette which was still sold, eventually got discontinued after 2005 due to poor sales.

Morava was sold in the following countries: Austria, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Socialist Republic of Slovenia, Socialist Republic of Croatia, Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Socialist Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Serbia.
