Moldavian-Muntenian Carpathians
The Moldavian-Muntenian Carpathians are a group of mountain ranges in Romania. These ranges are considered part of the Outer Eastern Carpathians. Within Romania, however, it is traditional to divide the Eastern Romanian Carpathians into three geographical groups, instead in Outer and Inner Eastern Carpathians:
The Eastern Romanian Carpathians include:
- Ridges of Bukovina, i.e. Obcina Mare, Obcina Mestecăniș and Obcina Feredeului. In Romania these are considered part of the northern Carpathians of Maramureș and Bukovina
- Stânișoara Mountains. In Romania considered part of the central Carpathians of Moldavia and Transylvania, or "MMT"
- Tarcău Mountains. MMT
- Comănești Depression MMT
- Nemira Mountains MMT
- Ciuc Mountains, including the Bodoc Mountains, MMT
- Bârsa Mountains,in Romania considered part of the Curvature Carpathians, or "MC"
- Ciucaș Mountains, MC
- Baiu Mountains MC
- Buzău Mountains, MC
- Vrancea Mountains, MC
