Minkend
Minkend is a village in the Lachin district of Azerbaijan. Since May 17, 1992, the village, together with the rest of Lachin district, has been occupied by the Armenian military.Geography
The village is located on the west bank of the Hakari River and in the northern part of Lachin district, 320 km from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.History
According to the Russian Empire Census of 1897, Minkend had a population of 902, of whom 506 were Armenians and 396 were Kurds.
In 1905, 140 Armenian inhabitants of the village were killed and 40 wounded during the Armenian-Tatar massacres.Economy
