He has MFA in painting from Islamic Azad University, fine arts and architecture faculty, central branch, Tehran. He started his work as a scriptwriter in 1997. He married Shaghayegh Dehghan in 2003.and divorce now.Shaghayegh Dehghan is an Iranian actress who is active in Iranian cinema since 1993. They have one son, Noyan. Ghasem Khani also has a daughter from his first marriage named Nirvana. His brother, Peyman GhasemKhani is also a writer and his ex-spouse, Bahareh Rahnama is an actress.
