and career
Born
in
Pittsburgh
, he
earned
a
Bachelor of Arts
from the
University of Pittsburgh
in
1971
and a
Juris Doctor
from
Duquesne University
in
1975
. From 1975 to 1979, he served as
Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania
. Baer was elected
judge
in the
Allegheny County
Court of Common Pleas
and was
retained
for a second ten-year term
in 1999
. He was elected to the
Pennsylvania
Supreme Court
in 2003.
