MasterChef Indonesia


MasterChef is an Indonesian competitive cooking reality show based on the original British series of the same name, open to amateur and home chefs. Produced by Endemol Shine Group, it debuted on 1 May 2011 on RCTI. In season 7 Masterchef Indonesia, all format Masterchef worldwide produce Endemol Shine Group and Banijay Group. Different in season 7 is big audition, big audition in season 7 with online audition in Metube. Because COVID-19 Pandemic and schedule for big audition in any country cancel and change with online audition.

Format

MasterChef Indonesia airs two days a week from Saturday to Sunday. The competition takes place in the RCTI's studio on Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta which known as MasterChef Gallery. This place includes a large kitchen area with several cooking stations which is overlooked by a balcony, a well-stocked pantry and a freezer/fridge area.
At the audition round, the challenge is to have the contestants to prepare their mainstay dish around 30 minutes, with the judges can advance them to the next round based on the taste of their dishes by deciding to give them an apron or not.
In the bootcamp round, the first challenge is to have the contestants to perform routine tasks such as filleting a fish, peeling shrimps, etc. During that time the judges will observe their techniques. The second challenge requires the contestants to create a dish using a prepared staple ingredient with the judges can advance them to the gallery round or eliminate them based on their cooking techniques and the taste of their dishes by taking their aprons.
Subsequently, the formal competition begins typically following a three event cycle that takes place over two episodes, where the judges will eliminate one or even two contestants after the third event. The events typically are:

Seasons synopsis

Season 1 (2011)

This inaugural season was aired during 2011, between 1 May to 21 August. The number of finalists for this season were 20 contestants. The judges for this season were starred with :id:Juna Rorimpandey|Juna Rorimpandey, Rinrin Marinka and :id:Vindex Tengker|Vindex Tengker.
On 8 May 2011, Dudi decided to withdraw from the competition due to his deteriorating health condition. The winner for this season was Lucky Andreono, a 31-years-old furniture entrepreneur with Agus Sasirangan, a 25-years-old teacher was being a runner-up.

Top 20

Season 2 (2012)

The second season was aired during 2012, between 21 August to 28 October. The number of finalists for this season were still 20 contestants. For this season, judges :id:Juna Rorimpandey|Juna Rorimpandey and Rinrin Marinka were returned from the previous season with a new judge :id:Degan Septoadji|Degan Septoadji who replaced :id:Vindex Tengker|Vindex Tengker.
On 29 July 2012, Adeline decided to withdraw from this competition because she claimed that she could not concentrate in competing because she always remembered her children at home. Adel felt she could no longer compete for the MasterChef title because she lost her mood in cooking.
The winner of this season was Desi Trisnawati, a 39-years-old hotel director with Taufik Hidayat, a 30-years-old property agent was being a runner-up.

Top 20

Season 3 (2013)

The third season was aired during 2013, between 5 May to 17 August. The number of finalists for this season were 25 contestants from the previous 20 contestants. For this season, judges Rinrin Marinka and :id:Degan Septoadji|Degan Septoadji were returned from the previous season with a new judge :id:Arnold Poernomo|Arnold Poernomo who replaced the first two seasons judge :id:Juna Rorimpandey|Juna Rorimpandey.
The winner of this season was William Gozali, a 22-year-old store supervisor with Febrian Wicaksono, a 25-years-old private employee was being a runner-up.

Top 25

Season 4 (2015)

The fourth season was aired during 2015, between 31 May to 12 September. The number of finalists for this season were 30 contestants from the previous 25 contestants. However, the two judges format will be used for this season where :id:Arnold Poernomo|Arnold Poernomo still returned from the previous season with a new judge Matteo Guerinoni who replaced Rinrin Marinka and :id:Degan Septoadji|Degan Septoadji.
On 25 July 2015, Budi A.M. decided to withdraw from the competition due to a long-term stomach problem that made him unable to finish his cooking in the elimination test. The winner of this season was Luvita Hodiono, a 20 years-old college student with Deny Gumilang, a 35-years-old entrepreneur was being a runner-up.

Top 30

Season 5 (2019)

After a four years hiatus, on 27 September 2018, MasterChef Indonesia has confirmed from its official Instagram that the series had been renewed for the fifth season. This season was premiered on 3 March 2019. The number of finalists for this season were 26 contestants from the previous 30 contestants.
For this season, judges :id:Juna Rorimpandey|Juna Rorimpandey and :id:Arnold Poernomo|Arnold Poernomo were returned again with a new judge :id:Renatta Moeloek|Renatta Moeloek who replaced Matteo Guerinoni. Stefani Horison was announced as the winner, with Kaisha Firdayassie as the runner-up.

Top 26

Season 6 (2019–20)

The sixth season was premiered on 21 December 2019 with :id:Juna Rorimpandey|Juna Rorimpandey, :id:Arnold Poernomo|Arnold Poernomo and :id:Renatta Moeloek|Renatta Moeloek all returned as judges.
The number of finalists for this season was increased to 28 contestants from the previous 26 contestants.
On 11 January 2020, Eddy Siswanto had to be disqualified because he was found cheating by carrying a recipe note when making desserts in a Safe and Risk challenge.
On 25 January 2020, Arthur Tamnge decided to withdraw from the competition because he had to accompany his pregnant wife even though one the judges, Juna said that he had passed the pressure test.
For this season, Eric Herjanto was announced as the winner, with Firhan Ashari as the runner-up.
