Martin Simonson is a Swedish scholar, novelist, and translator, specialized in fantasy literature and nature writing. He teaches English language and literature at the University of the Basque Country in Spain. Simonson, who was born in Göteborg, Sweden, in 1973, holds a Ph.D. in English literature from University of the Basque Country. He is the author of various novels and has written and edited a number of books on fantasy and science fiction. He has also translated novels, plays, and graphic novels from English, Swedish and Norwegian into Spanish, as well as essays on American history, and published many articles and chapters in books on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. He is married and has two daughters.
