María Cascales Angosto - scientist and biochemist from Spain. She was born on August 13, 1934 in Cartagena. She graduated from the University of Granada, the University of Madrid. She was awarded the Medal of Work Merit (Spain), the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise, the doctor honoris causa.
